About Sheila...

When I look into my camera, I see more than just people. I see playful moments between parents and their children, a stolen kiss between lovers, and a shy girl come out of her shell. I picked up my first DSLR 3 years ago. It was an old Nikon model with 2 kit lenses. I was initially hooked. My kids and nature became my muse. Photography became an outlet to relieve the stressors of working full time as a nurse, a mom, and a wife. Photography became my passion and ShemSali Photography was born.

I consider myself a hobbyist photographer. I have learned so much over the past 3 years and enyoy sharing wonderful images with everyone. I love the experience and meeting new people. As a mom and a pediatric nurse, I have always had a knack with kids. I enjoy seeing families interact with each other. I also found myself drawn to street photography because it is when I see human beings in their rawest form. As a humanist, I value people and the importance of inclusion. Therefore, I have provided pro-bono photography sessions for families who are unable to afford a photographer. I continue contributing to my fellow San Antonians by volunteering my services or donating proceeds of my work to people in need.

Photography can bring out joy, laughther, and love. It can bring individuals of different backgrounds, beliefs, and ideas together. It captures the essence of humanity. Therefore, I would love to share all your special moments and provide you long a lasting collection of happy memories.
